Preview Roundups
November 21, 2016
Calgary at Buffalo 7:00 PM ET
The Calgary Flames have had more success on the road this campaign than at home, and that bodes well for the Pacific Division team as it continues its season-high six-game road trip against Eastern Conference clubs when it visits the Buffalo Sabres on Monday. Calgary is just 3-7-0 at Scotiabank Saddledome but improved to 5-4-1 away from home on Sunday by posting a 3-2 triumph in Detroit.
NY Rangers at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers attempt to put an end to their first winless streak of the season when they visit the Metropolitan Division-rival Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday for the opener of a home-and-home series. New York failed to follow a loss with a victory for the first time in 2016-17 on Sunday as it dropped a 3-2 decision to visiting Florida in a shootout after squandering a pair of leads.
Colorado at Columbus 7:00 PM ET
The Columbus Blue Jackets put their club-record seven-game home winning streak on the line when the Colorado Avalanche invade Nationwide Arena on Monday. The contest is a homecoming of sorts for Colorado first-year coach Jared Bednar, who spent three seasons in the Columbus organization as an assistant with Springfield and coach of Lake Erie of the American Hockey League, while Avalanche assistant Nolan Pratt served in that capacity for five seasons in Springfield and Lake Erie.
Tampa Bay at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Lightning attempt to complete an eventful five-game road trip unbeaten when they take on the inconsistent Nashville Predators on Monday. The Lightning lost captain Steven Stamkos (knee surgery) for four months in the second game of the trek and recorded a pair of shutouts, including a 3-0 triumph at Philadelphia on Saturday in which they suffered several injuries.
Minnesota at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
The Minnesota Wild’s offense is not creating enough room for error this month and a strong start to the season is beginning to go to waste. The Wild, who came out of the gate 6-2-1, look to find a spark against one of the league’s worst defensive teams when they visit the Dallas Stars on Monday for a Central Division showdown.
Chicago at Edmonton 9:00 PM ET
The Chicago Blackhawks resemble a team capable of winning its fourth Stanley Cup in eight years as their seven-game circus road trip continues against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday. Chicago lost the opener of the trek created by the invasion of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey at the United Center, but reeled off two victories since - 3-2 over Calgary on Friday and a 4-3 overtime win against Vancouver on Saturday after overcoming a 3-0 third-period deficit.
New Jersey at San Jose 10:30 PM ET
The San Jose Sharks have played more road games than anyone in the league this season and will get a chance for some home cooking with five in a row and seven of the next eight at SAP Center. The Sharks look to shake off some injury woes and put together a run when they host the New Jersey Devils on Monday.
