Preview Roundups
November 12, 2016
Detroit at Montreal 7:00 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens look to set a franchise record on Saturday should they remain perfect at Bell Centre following a home game against the Atlantic Division-rival Detroit Red Wings. The 1953-54 Canadiens opened their season with a record nine straight home victories before, ironically, falling to the Red Wings.
San Jose at Tampa Bay 7:00 PM ET
The San Jose Sharks have enjoyed their trips to Florida the last few seasons and can complete another sweep when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night. The Sharks are 6-1-0 in their last seven games in the Sunshine State after knocking off the Florida Panthers 4-2 on Thursday with four unanswered goals and can win for the fourth straight time at Tampa Bay.
NY Islanders at Florida 7:00 PM ET
The New York Islanders are struggling to stay out of the basement in the Metropolitan Division and one of the reasons why is their lack of success away from home. The Islanders will look to earn their first point of the season on the road when they visit the Florida Panthers on Saturday night to cap a two-game swing to the Sunshine State.
Buffalo at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
The Buffalo Sabres have become very familiar with 2-1 decisions and, unfortunately for them, they have ended up on the wrong side more often than not. The Sabres look to avoid another such defeat when they visit the New Jersey Devils on Saturday for the finale of their home-and-home series.
Minnesota at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia Flyers attempt to end a three-game winless streak when they begin a four-game homestand on Saturday against the Minnesota Wild. Philadelphia had its string of eight consecutive one-goal decisions come to a crashing halt Friday as it surrendered four goals in the third period en route to a 6-3 setback in Toronto.
Toronto at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The Toronto Maple Leafs bounced back from an embarrassing loss and look to carry that momentum into Saturday's contest against the host Pittsburgh Penguins. Toronto was trounced 7-0 by Los Angeles on Tuesday and entered the third period of Friday's game against Philadelphia trailing 3-2 before erupting for four goals en route to its fourth victory in five contests.
Washington at Carolina 7:00 PM ET
The Washington Capitals look to extend their road winning streak to five games when they visit the struggling Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday. The Capitals have recorded six victories in their last seven overall contests after Marcus Johansson’s overtime goal gave the reigning Presidents’ Trophy winners a 3-2 triumph at Chicago on Friday.
St. Louis at Columbus 7:00 PM ET
Vladimir Tarasenko snapped a seven-game goal drought in overtime to send the St. Louis Blues to a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets last week. The timely tally ignited a four-game point streak for Tarasenko, who looks to continue his hot hand on Saturday when the Blues wrap up their abbreviated two-game road trip with a date against the Blue Jackets.
Boston at Arizona 8:00 PM ET
The Boston Bruins are starting to turn a corner as they prepare to open a three-game road trip with a visit to the struggling Arizona Coyotes on Saturday night. The Bruins have won five of their last seven games, with the only losses coming to two of the league's hottest teams -- division leaders Montreal and the New York Rangers.
Anaheim at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
The Anaheim Ducks have picked up the pieces following a season-opening four-game skid to make a charge up the Pacific Division standings. Riding a four-game point streak (3-0-1) and 7-2-2 mark in their last 11, the Ducks look to complete a successful three-game road trip in style on Saturday against the Nashville Predators.
NY Rangers at Calgary 10:00 PM ET
A home-friendly schedule has the New York Rangers tied with reigning Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh atop the Metropolitan Division. Now the league's highest-scoring team will get a chance to see if it can continue its success away from Madison Square Garden when the Rangers open a four-game road trip at the Calgary Flames on Saturday night.
