Preview Roundups
November 10, 2016
Columbus at Boston 7:00 PM ET
The Columbus Blue Jackets have earned points in five straight games and attempt to extend that streak when they visit the Boston Bruins on Thursday. Columbus has a quick turnaround as it improved to 4-0-1 during its run on Wednesday with a 3-2 overtime triumph at home over Anaheim, squandering an early 2-0 lead before rookie defenseman Zach Werenski scored the first game-winning goal of his career 1:21 into the extra session.
Minnesota at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Penguins have won four consecutive home games and own a 6-0-1 mark at PPG Paints Arena heading into Thursday's tilt versus the visiting Minnesota Wild. The Penguins added to those marks with a 4-3 victory over Connor McDavid and Edmonton to begin a three-game homestand Tuesday, improving to 6-0-1 mark in their last seven contests overall.
Anaheim at Carolina 7:00 PM ET
The Carolina Hurricanes seek their first regulation victory in nearly two weeks as they begin a five-game homestand Thursday against the Anaheim Ducks. Carolina has gone 1-2-2 since edging the New York Rangers 3-2 on Oct. 28, with the only win coming Saturday at Nashville in a shootout.
Los Angeles at Montreal 7:30 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens own the best record in the NHL and will put their perfect home record on the line when they host the resurgent Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night. The Canadiens have lost only once in regular in 13 games and are a spotless 8-0-0 at the Bell Centre, but they will be tested by the suddenly explosive Kings.
Vancouver at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Detroit Red Wings snapped a pair of winless streaks in their last outing while the Vancouver Canucks ended a pronounced nine-game skid en route to winning their first road contest of the season. The teams will look to build a positive streak on Thursday as they attempt to win two in a row at the other's expense when they meet at Joe Louis Arena.
NY Islanders at Tampa Bay 7:30 PM ET
The New York Islanders have not been able to stop Tampa Bay right wing Nikita Kucherov of late and must find the answers quickly Thursday when they visit the Lightning to start a two-game Sunshine State trip. Kucherov scored four goals in five games during the Eastern Conference semifinal playoff series against the Islanders and recorded two goals and two assists in a 6-1 victory at New York on Nov. 1.
San Jose at Florida 7:30 PM ET
The Florida Panthers have a chance to post back-to-back victories for the first time since winning their first two games of the season when they host the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night. Florida, which won the Atlantic Division last season, has alternated wins and losses over the last five games.
St. Louis at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
The Nashville Predators have been a better team in November with a four-game point streak and can climb back to the .500 mark when they host the St. Louis Blues on Thursday. The Predators gave up one goal each in a pair of victories, including Tuesday’s 3-1 triumph over Ottawa, and dropped two shootout decisions during their run after losing six of their previous seven contests.
Dallas at Calgary 9:00 PM ET
The Dallas Stars have won only once away from home and will look to rebound from a humbling loss when they continue their five-game road trip with a visit to the Calgary Flames on Thursday night. Calgary is returning home after a rocky road trip of its own, losing three of four games while getting outscored 16-5.
Winnipeg at Arizona 9:00 PM ET
Second overall pick Patrik Laine has faced little turbulence during his rookie season and the Winnipeg Jets are starting to ascend in the ultra-competitive Central Division. Fresh off his second career hat trick in only 14 games, Laine will look to continue to torment goaltenders on Thursday as the Jets begin a two-game road trip against the Arizona Coyotes.
