Preview Roundups
November 08, 2016
Carolina at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
After finding his scoring touch in a big way in the opener of a home-and-home series against the Carolina Hurricanes, Michael Cammalleri looks to continue his good fortune on Tuesday when the New Jersey Devils vie for a sweep at the Prudential Center. Cammalleri scored his first three goals of the season for his sixth career hat trick and his first of a natural variety on Sunday, leading New Jersey to a 4-1 victory over its Metropolitan Division rival.
Vancouver at NY Rangers 7:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers hope to keep lighting up the scoreboard Tuesday as they aim for their sixth consecutive victory when they host the Vancouver Canucks. New York has scored at least five goals in six of its last seven contests and each game of its winning streak, including Sunday's 5-2 triumph over Winnipeg, to raise its league-leading total to 55 and give it an NHL-best plus-26 differential.
Detroit at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
The Detroit Red Wings let a two-goal lead slip through their fingers last week en route to yet another failed bid to end a near-20-year run of futility in the City of Brotherly Love. The Red Wings will look to snap a five-game winless skid overall (0-4-1) and 12-game regular-season losing streak in Philadelphia on Tuesday when they face the Flyers.
Edmonton at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The longstanding face of the NHL meets perhaps the future one on Tuesday as two-time Hart Trophy winner Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins host fellow generational talent Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers. McDavid has been compared to Crosby for quite some time, although hockey fans were denied of this dream matchup last season after the now-19-year-old sustained a broken collarbone during his rookie campaign.
San Jose at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The Washington Capitals are among the league's hottest teams, but even their next matchup against one of last season's Stanley Cup finalists promises to be overshadowed. With most of the nation focused on the results of the presidential election, the surging Capitals will host the struggling San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night.
Los Angeles at Toronto 7:30 PM ET
The youthful Toronto Maple Leafs are growing up quickly and will go for their fourth consecutive victory on Tuesday when they host the Los Angeles Kings in the middle contest of a three-game homestand. Toronto has rebounded from losing six of seven by winning its last three, including a season-high goal output in Saturday's 6-3 win over Vancouver.
Boston at Montreal 7:30 PM ET
The league-leading Montreal Canadiens look to put together a new winning streak when they continue their four-game homestand Tuesday against the Original Six-rival Boston Bruins. Montreal had its string of eight consecutive victories snapped on Friday, when it was routed 10-0 in Columbus for its first regulation loss of the season, but bounced back the following night with a 5-4 triumph over Philadelphia in the opener of its stretch of home games.
Ottawa at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
The Nashville Predators traditionally have been known for their stingy defense while the Ottawa Senators have often flown loose and carefree with that concept. The scripts have been flipped for both clubs this season as the Senators, who have yielded just three goals in their last four contests, head into the opener of a two-game road trip against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.
Dallas at Winnipeg 8:00 PM ET
The Dallas Stars will attempt to bounce back from a last-minute overtime loss when they continue their five-game road trip with a visit to the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night in a matchup of Central Division rivals. Dallas has lost seven of its last nine games, but one of the victories was a 3-2 win over Winnipeg on Oct. 25.
Arizona at Colorado 9:00 PM ET
The Colorado Avalanche looked like a team on the rise while winning three of their first four games this season, but it has been a struggle at both ends of the rink in the last seven. The Avalanche hope to end their severe offensive woes and get back on track Tuesday night when they host the Arizona Coyotes to open a four-game homestand.
