Preview Roundups
March 12, 2019
Dallas at Buffalo 7:00 PM ET
Locked in a battle for the final two wild cards in the Western Conference, the Dallas Stars will open a brief two-game road trip with a visit to the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night. Dallas will catch a break in the matchup against the reeling Sabres, who will be short-handed with captain Jack Eichel sitting out due to a suspension.
Washington at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Penguins look to put a halt to an opponent's gaudy streak for the second consecutive contest on Tuesday when they host the Washington Capitals. The Penguins, who snapped Boston's 19-game point run with a 4-2 victory on Sunday, will encounter a Capitals club that has won a season high-tying seven in a row to ascend to the top of the Metropolitan Division.
Boston at Columbus 7:00 PM ET
The Boston Bruins saw the second-longest point streak in franchise history come to an end last time out and will look to start another big run when they visit the struggling Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night. The Bruins went 15-0-4 in 19 games, going without a regulation loss since Jan. 19, before dropping a 4-2 decision at Pittsburgh on Sunday and now set their sights on holding second place in the Atlantic Division.
Detroit at Montreal 7:30 PM ET
Coming off one of their worst beatings of the season, a loss that dropped them outside the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference, the Montreal Canadiens will try to regroup when they host the lowly Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night. Montreal has won eight in a row versus the Red Wings, including all three meetings this season.
Arizona at St. Louis 8:00 PM ET
The St. Louis Blues will be without Vladimir Tarasenko and his club-most 28 goals for at least the next four games beginning with Tuesday's contest against the visiting Arizona Coyotes. It is believed that Tarasenko, who is second on the team with 58 points, sustained an elbow injury in Thursday's 4-0 victory at Los Angeles before sitting out Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss in San Jose.
San Jose at Winnipeg 8:00 PM ET
The Central Division-leading Winnipeg Jets return after a 2-2-0 road trip to face a three-game stretch at home against NHL heavyweights, starting with a visit from the surging San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night. The Jets, who also face Calgary and Boston on the homestand, had a chance to finish with a winning trip before suffering a 3-1 loss at reigning Stanley Cup champion Washington on Sunday despite a 34-18 edge in shots.
New Jersey at Calgary 9:00 PM ET
The Calgary Flames extended their season-high winning streak to seven games with a 2-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Feb. 27, only to lose four in a row before stopping the skid in their last time out. The Flames look to ignite another winning streak on Tuesday when they host the reeling Devils in the second contest of their three-game homestand.
Nashville at Anaheim 10:00 PM ET
The Nashville Predators are trying to keep pace with Winnipeg in the Central Division but they also are hearing footsteps with third-place St. Louis just four points behind them. The Predators have gone seven straight games without winning in regulation as they play the first of three road games at the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night.
