Preview Roundups
February 07, 2017
San Jose at Buffalo 7:00 PM ET
The road has been kind to the San Jose Sharks of late and the Pacific Division leaders hope the trend continues as they begin a four-game trek Tuesday against the Buffalo Sabres. San Jose is 15-10-1 away from home this season thanks to a surge during which it won five of six and each of the last four.
Anaheim at NY Rangers 7:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers have dominated teams from the Pacific Division this season and look to continue that trend when they host the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night. The Rangers improved to 9-1-0 against the Pacific with a 4-3 victory over Calgary on Sunday and have won their last four meetings against the Ducks.
Calgary at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
Sidney Crosby has been racking up points at a staggering clip and the Pittsburgh Penguins are following suit. Fresh off his sixth multi-goal performance of the season, the two-time Hart Trophy winner looks to continue his surge as the Pittsburgh Penguins vie for their fourth win in a row and eighth in 10 games on Tuesday when they host the Calgary Flames.
Carolina at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The Washington Capitals are threatening to run the league's points race into a runaway for the second straight season as they prepare to host the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night. The reigning Presidents' Trophy winners are in the midst of a 16-2-1 that included a 6-1 drubbing of the Hurricanes on Jan. 23.
Dallas at Toronto 7:30 PM ET
The Dallas Stars finished with the most points in the Western Conference last season and are in serious danger of being left out of the postseason in 2016-17. The Stars, who have dropped seven of their last 10 contests, are five points out of the last playoff position as they start a stretch during which they play five of six on the road by visiting the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.
St. Louis at Ottawa 7:30 PM ET
The Ottawa Senators attempt to remain within striking distance of first-place Montreal in the Atlantic Division when they begin a four-game homestand Tuesday against the St. Louis Blues. Ottawa, which earned points in five of its last six at home (3-1-2), is eight points behind the Canadiens with four games in hand.
Columbus at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
Despite their riveting 16-game winning streak earlier in the season, the Columbus Blue Jackets are falling farther back in the rear-view mirror of Metropolitan Division-leading Washington. The Blue Jackets look to avoid losing three straight games for the first time this season when they pay a visit to the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night.
Los Angeles at Tampa Bay 7:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Kings hope to put a disappointing result behind them quickly when they continue a four-game road trip Tuesday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Los Angeles allowed three goals during a five-game win streak before getting routed by the league-best Washington Capitals 5-0 on Sunday - 24 hours after winning in overtime at Philadelphia.
Vancouver at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
Brandon Sutter wasn't afraid to push his chips to the middle of the table ahead of the Vancouver Canucks' daunting six-game road trip, regardless of the team's recent troubles. With losses in four of their last five, the Canucks look to turn their fortunes around Tuesday when they open the pronounced trek with a visit to the Nashville Predators.
Minnesota at Winnipeg 8:00 PM ET
The Minnesota Wild keep winning and forward Mikael Granlund keeps scoring entering Tuesday’s visit to the Winnipeg Jets. Granlund, named the NHL’s Second Star of the Week on Monday, scored six points - tied for most in the league last week - in three games, including his first career hat trick to highlight a four-point performance in Saturday’s 6-3 victory over Vancouver.
Montreal at Colorado 9:00 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens' offense has mustered three measly goals during the team's three-game winless skid but looks to get untracked versus a struggling team it ravaged for a season-high 10 tallies nearly two months ago. The Canadiens open a two-game road trip against a pair of Western Conference cellar dwellers when they visit the NHL-worst Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday before facing off with Pacific Division doormat Arizona two nights later.
