Loyola Marymount visits South Florida for a semifinal matchup in the College Basketball Invitational on Thursday night with the winner scheduled to play a best-of-three final against either Coastal Carolina or DePaul next week. USF set a single-season program record for home wins (16) on Monday after defeating Utah Valley 66-57 and it now aims to tie the mark for most victories in team history (22) against the Lions, who come off an 81-63 victory over Brown.

Florida State ended Gonzaga's season with a 75-60 upset in the Sweet 16 in Los Angeles during its surprising run to the Elite Eight last March. And in what may be a case of be careful what you wish for, the top-seeded Zags have said they are looking forward to a rematch with the fourth-seeded Seminoles in the West Region semifinals on Thursday night in Anaheim, Calif.

Purdue has played two very strong games so far in the NCAA Tournament, while Tennessee logged two very impressive halves. The second-seeded Volunteers hope to put together a full 60 minutes Thursday when they take on the third-seeded Boilermakers in a South Region semifinal affair in Louisville, Ky.

Second-seeded Michigan takes on No. 3 seed Texas Tech in the West Region semifinal in Anaheim, Calif. on Thursday in a battle of two of the top defensive teams in the country. Michigan, who is ranked second nationally in scoring defense (58.2), took care of business against Montana (74-55) and Florida (64-49) to advance past the opening weekend for the third consecutive year while notching 30 wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history.

Top-seeded Virginia extinguished some demons last weekend and the Cavaliers now set their sights on reaching the Elite Eight when they take on No. 12 seed Oregon in the South Region semifinals Thursday night in Louisville, Ky. Virginia, which became the first No. 1 seed in history to lose to a 16th seed in the NCAA Tournament last season, rallied from 14 points down to beat Gardner-Webb in the opening round and handled Oklahoma 63-51 in the second round Sunday.
