Max Strus has taken over the College Basketball Invitational and will try to lead DePaul to the championship series when it plays host to Coastal Carolina in the semifinals Wednesday night. Strus, a senior guard, scored 33 points in a first-round win over Central Michigan and followed that up with 38 in Monday's 97-89 victory over Longwood in the quarterfinals.

North Carolina State squeezed past a pair of mid-majors at home in the first two rounds of the NIT and will try to knock off another Wednesday night when they host Lipscomb with a trip to New York for the semifinals on the line. The Wolfpack beat Colonial Athletic Association regular-season champ Hofstra 82-74 in the first round and Ivy League co-regular season champ Harvard 78-77 on Sunday to advance to the quarterfinals.

Texas and Colorado have won a pair of home games apiece to advance to the NIT quarterfinals. The second-seeded Longhorns, though, are the higher seed and will have the home-court edge Wednesday night when they host fourth-seeded Colorado with a trip to New York’s Madison Square Garden on the line.
