Preview Roundups
March 02, 2019
Kansas at Oklahoma State 12:00 PM ET
Given its to-date performance on the road this season, Kansas doesn't have the luxury of overlooking any opponent - even one that has dropped 10 of its last 11 Big 12 contests. The 16th-ranked Jayhawks seek only their third win in 10 true road games Saturday when they visit league-worst Oklahoma State.
Louisiana State at Alabama 12:00 PM ET
No. 14 LSU is expected to have sophomore guard Tremont Waters back on the floor when it visits Alabama on Saturday for an SEC matchup. Waters, who leads the team in scoring (15.7 points) and assists (5.9), missed the last two games with an undisclosed illness, but the Tigers defeated No. 7 Tennessee and Texas A&M in his absence to remain in a first-place tie in the conference.
Michigan St at Indiana 12:00 PM ET
Michigan State looks to win its sixth straight game and stay in at least a tie for first place in the Big Ten when it travels to face Indiana on Saturday afternoon. The No. 8 Spartans are coming off perhaps their biggest win of the season, a 77-70 victory at No. 10 Michigan on Sunday, while the Hoosiers have a little momentum as well after breaking their five-game losing streak with a 75-73 double-overtime decision over No. 18 Wisconsin on Tuesday.
NC State at Florida State 12:00 PM ET
At just 8-7 in conference action, North Carolina State needs all the wins it can get down the stretch if it hopes to make the NCAA Tournament. A road win over a ranked opponent would look great on the Wolfpack’s resume and they’ll get the chance to do just that when they visit No. 17 Florida State on Saturday afternoon.
Syracuse at Wake Forest 12:00 PM ET
Syracuse plays the ultimate "trap game" Saturday when it visits Wake Forest in ACC action. The Orange are in the midst of a four-game stretch against three top-five teams (Duke, North Carolina and Virginia) and this weekend's matchup with the Demon Deacons is the only apparent break in the schedule.
Penn St. at Wisconsin 1:00 PM ET

No. 18 Wisconsin looks to continue its decade-long dominance over Penn State when it hosts the Nittany Lions on Saturday. The Badgers have won 11 consecutive meetings with Penn State, including a comfortable 71-52 victory in their first matchup of the season on Jan. 6, and hope to stretch their home unbeaten streak in the rivalry to 19 games while staying in the hunt for a top-four finish, which ensures a double-bye in the Big Ten Tournament.

Mississippi at Arkansas 1:00 PM ET
Mississippi has a chance to reach 20 victories for the eighth time in the last 10 seasons when it visits Arkansas on Saturday afternoon in an Southeastern Conference matchup. The Rebels will look to rebound from a last-second home loss to No. 7 Tennessee and complete a sweep of the Razorbacks for the first time since the 2011-12 season.
Kentucky at Tennessee 2:00 PM ET
If Tennessee was feeling an air of invincibility during its 19-game winning streak, Kentucky squashed it with a 17-point rout three weeks ago in Lexington. The seventh-ranked Volunteers would like nothing more than to avenge their only double-digit loss of the season and will get that chance Saturday when they host the fourth-ranked Wildcats in a battle between two of the three teams tied for first place in the SEC.
Ohio St. at Purdue 2:00 PM ET
Big Ten co-leader Purdue will not have to face its opponent's best player in the final regular-season home game at Mackey Arena on Saturday. Ohio State will be without Kaleb Wesson after the sophomore center was suspended indefinitely Friday by coach Chris Holtmann.
Pittsburgh at Virginia 2:00 PM ET
No. 2 Virginia certainly impressed Georgia Tech coach Josh Pastner after Wednesday's 81-51 rout and has designs on a second straight ACC regular-season title and fourth in six years. The Cavaliers, tied for the top spot with North Carolina and one game clear of the Blue Devils, seek a sixth straight win Saturday when they host struggling Pittsburgh.
Butler at Villanova 2:00 PM ET
With its top two players struggling and a fourth straight defeat looming, Villanova relied on an unlikely source to get its season back on track. The Wildcats escaped with a huge win against Marquette earlier this week and now must take on Butler in their final home game of the season.
Iowa State at Texas 2:00 PM ET
Few teams are as perplexing as Iowa State, whose resume includes wins over Kansas State, Texas Tech and Ole Miss along with losses to TCU and Arizona. The Cyclones continue their search for consistency Saturday against host Texas, which has lost two straight games and three of its last four.
West Virginia at Oklahoma 2:00 PM ET
Coming off its most impressive victory of the season, West Virginia will look to capture consecutive victories for the first time in 2019 when it visits Oklahoma on Saturday. The Mountaineers needed three extra periods Tuesday to snap a five-game losing streak as they outlasted TCU and earned a 104-96 triumph.
Wofford at Samford 2:00 PM ET
Wofford can become the first Southern Conference team to finish undefeated in the regular season since Stephen Curry and Davidson in 2007-08 when the 25th-ranked Terriers visit Samford on Saturday in search of their 17th straight win. Wofford didn’t show any jitters after being ranked for the first time in its history earlier in the week with an 80-54 rout at Chattanooga on Thursday and will be alert against Samford, which nearly beat the Terriers on Jan. 24.
South Carolina at Missouri 3:30 PM ET
South Carolina looks to avoid a third consecutive loss when it visits Missouri on Saturday for an SEC matchup. The Gamecocks, who currently are tied with Florida, Ole Miss and Mississippi State for fourth place in the conference standings, are coming off a 68-62 loss to Alabama on Tuesday while the Tigers, who have dropped four straight, were trounced 68-49 by Mississippi State in their last contest.
Texas Tech at Texas Christian 4:00 PM ET
No. 11 Texas Tech rattled off five consecutive wins by an average margin of 25 points, but its sixth straight was of a different variety; a grind-it-out overtime affair against Oklahoma State on Wednesday. The Red Raiders, tied for the top spot in the Big 12 standings with Kansas State, seek a seventh straight win when they visit TCU on Saturday.
Mississippi State at Auburn 4:00 PM ET
Mississippi State is enjoying its longest winning streak in Southeastern Conference play since 2008 and looks to have all but punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2009. The Bulldogs bid for their sixth straight victory on Saturday when they visit Auburn, which owns a sterling 13-2 mark at home this season.
Miami-Florida at Duke 4:00 PM ET

Second-ranked Duke suffered another loss without forward Zion Williamson (sprained knee) Tuesday, falling to Virginia Tech 77-72 to run the team's record to 1-2 without its star freshman. The Blue Devils are hoping to regroup with consecutive games at home against Miami on Saturday and Wake Forest on Tuesday after a challenging stretch in which they played six games in 18 days -- four versus ranked teams.

Central Florida at Houston 4:00 PM ET
Sixth-ranked Houston looks to remain on top of the American Athletic Conference standings and earn its nation-best 34th straight victory at home when surging Central Florida pays a visit on Saturday afternoon. The Cougars have won 12 in a row overall, including a 77-68 triumph at UCF, and outscored its last three opponents by 81 points after a 99-65 victory at East Carolina on Wednesday to sit one game ahead of Cincinnati in the American.
Rutgers at Iowa 5:00 PM ET

No. 21 Iowa looks to complete the season sweep of Rutgers when it hosts the Scarlet Knights on Saturday in its first game without suspended coach Fran McCaffery. McCaffery was handed a two-game ban for a profanity-laced outburst directed at one of the referees following the 90-70 loss to Ohio State on Tuesday, and the Hawkeyes hope to persevere through his absence by earning their 15th home win of the season on Senior Night.

North Carolina at Clemson 6:00 PM ET
Clemson has won two in a row but will be hard-pressed to make it three straight as it hosts North Carolina on Saturday evening. The Tigers have strung together wins over ACC basement dwellers Boston College and Pittsburgh but must face one of the hottest teams in the country as the fifth-ranked Tar Heels have won four in a row.
Vanderbilt at Texas A&M 6:00 PM ET
Texas A&M will be without its third-leading scorer for the rest of the season as it hosts struggling Vanderbilt on Saturday in an SEC game. Aggies' sophomore guard TJ Starks suffered a dislocated right shoulder in Tuesday's 66-55 setback at No. 14 LSU after Texas A&M had built some momentum by winning four of its previous five contests.
Utah at Colorado 6:00 PM ET

Utah currently has what Colorado craves: A top-four spot in the Pac-12 standings which would translate into a first-round bye in the conference tournament. So at two games back of Runnin’ Utes with three to play, the Buffaloes know it’s must-win time Saturday when they play host to Utah in Boulder.

Seton Hall at Georgetown 6:30 PM ET
The margin for error has become razor thin for Seton Hall as it prepares to play its final three regular-season games, including Saturday's Big East contest at Georgetown. The Pirates are firmly on the NCAA Tournament bubble following two straight losses and still must face the conference's two best teams in No. 9 Marquette and Villanova after doing battle with the Hoyas.
Washington St. at California 7:00 PM ET

After snapping its 16-game losing streak with a stunning win over first-place Washington, California looks to carry the momentum into Saturday’s matchup against visiting Washington State. The Bears shot nearly 56 percent in Thursday’s 76-73 upset of Washington and recorded their first Pac-12 victory since beating Oregon State on Feb. 3, 2018.

Baylor at Kansas State 8:00 PM ET
After losing at rival Kansas on Monday night, No. 15 Kansas State now finds itself in a tie for first place in the Big 12 Conference with Texas Tech with three games to go. The Wildcats turn their attention to Saturday night's home game against Baylor, which is tied with the Jayhawks for third place, just a game behind the league leaders.
Memphis at Cincinnati 8:00 PM ET
No. 22 Cincinnati survived a brutal shooting performance its last time out to stay within striking distance in the American Athletic Conference. The Bearcats will try to keep the heat on first-place Houston when they host hard-charging Memphis in a key league matchup Saturday night.
Georgia at Florida 8:30 PM ET
Florida continues to make a late push for the postseason, defeating Vanderbilt 71-55 Wednesday to end a four-year skid in Nashville as the Gators earned their fifth straight SEC victory. Now Florida has to guard against overconfidence as it aims to finish off the sweep of Georgia on Saturday when it hosts the Bulldogs, who are coming off a hard-fought 78-75 loss to Auburn and are looking for their first conference win since early January.
Nevada at Utah St. 8:30 PM ET
Nevada completed a regular-season series sweep of in-state rival UNLV on Wednesday night for just the sixth time in the 32 seasons that they've played twice. But the stakes will be even higher for the 13th-ranked Wolf Pack on Saturday night when they travel to Utah State.
Gonzaga at St. Mary's 10:00 PM ET
Top-ranked Gonzaga attempts to complete an unbeaten record in West Coast Conference play when it visits Saint Mary's on Saturday night. The Bulldogs are 15-0 in the WCC as part of a 19-game winning streak that ranks as the best in the nation.
Arizona at Oregon 10:00 PM ET

Eight of the dozen Pac-12 teams have seven, eight or nine conference wins and are bunched in the middle of the standings. Oregon (7-8) and Arizona (8-8) are part of that pack, and each is eyeing a late-season move when they meet Saturday night in Eugene, Ore.
