Preview Roundups
February 08, 2017
Mississippi at Tennessee 6:30 PM ET
Uneven play has dogged Ole Miss for most of its SEC schedule, but a Wednesday date with a familiar foe could bring about its first three-game winning streak in a month and a half. The Rebels look to build on a pair of impressive offensive showings as they visit Tennessee, which has already lost to Ole Miss this season.
DePaul at Xavier 6:30 PM ET
No. 25 Xavier is showing plenty of fight since losing standout sophomore Edmond Sumner for the season and will try to extend its winning streak to four when struggling DePaul visits on Wednesday in a Big East clash. The Musketeers held on to beat St. John’s when Sumner suffered a knee injury before edging Seton Hall and Creighton by two points each.
Rutgers at Ohio St. 7:00 PM ET
Success in conference play has been incredibly hard to come by for Rutgers since joining the Big Ten 2 1/2 years ago, so finding a way to grind out a victory has to be considered a huge step in the right direction. Coming off their first road win in league action since leaving the American Athletic Conference following the 2013-14 campaign, the Scarlet Knights try to make it two in a row Wednesday when they visit Ohio State.
N.C. State at Florida St. 7:00 PM ET
With a midseason swoon completely in the rear-view mirror, No. 15 Florida State seeks a third consecutive dominant performance when it hosts sensational freshman Dennis Smith Jr. and North Carolina State on Wednesday. The freaky-athletic Seminoles served notice to the rest of the league by opening conference play 7-1, including wins over Virginia, Duke and Louisville that propelled them to No. 8 in the polls, but road losses at Georgia Tech and Syracuse tempered expectations for a school that ha
Pittsburgh at Boston College 7:00 PM ET
Pittsburgh plays Wednesday at Boston College in a matchup of two teams who have struggled against the ACC this season, combining to win just three league games and entering the matchup having dropped a combined 15 games in a row. Wednesday’s contest provides both teams a chance for a rare conference victory, as the Panthers look to snap an eight-game skid and the Eagles seek to end a seven-game slide.
Baylor at Oklahoma St. 7:00 PM ET
Eighth-ranked Baylor was flirting with a No. 1 national ranking only a week ago. But after the Bears suffered back-to-back losses at Kansas and last Saturday at home to Kansas State, it is host Oklahoma State - tied for seventh place in the Big 12 - that comes into Wednesday night's game on a roll.
South Florida at Connecticut 7:00 PM ET
Connecticut can go back over the .500 mark in the American Athletic Conference when it hosts South Florida on Wednesday. The Huskies saw their three-game win streak come to an end at the hands of No. 11 Cincinnati 82-68 on Saturday.
Houston at Tulane 8:00 PM ET
Houston will be well-rested when it goes after a fourth straight victory on Wednesday night at Tulane in an American Athletic Conference contest. The Cougars started their run with a 65-51 win against the Green Wave on Jan. 24 and knocked off Central Florida 82-64 on Feb. 1 in their last game before a week-long break as Damyean Dotson poured in a career-high 31 points, including seven 3-pointers.
Missouri at Texas A&M 8:30 PM ET

For the first time in two months, Missouri will take the court Wednesday with a chance to start a winning streak. The Tigers aim for their first back-to-back victories of 2017 when they travel to Texas A&M for an SEC matchup.

Providence at Seton Hall 8:30 PM ET
Seton Hall finally got off the schneid in Big East road games and returns home to face Providence on Wednesday looking to win back-to-back league games for only the second time this season. The Pirates rode junior Angel Delgado's 26 points and 17 rebounds to an overtime victory at Georgetown, winning for the first time in six conference games this season.
Iowa at Minnesota 9:00 PM ET
Suddenly hot Iowa looks to keep its momentum going Wednesday as it visits a Minnesota team in need of some wins to keep alive its postseason dream. The Hawkeyes have won three straight to move into the top half of the Big Ten standings, while the Golden Gophers are coming off a victory over Illinois that snapped their five-game losing streak.
Virginia Tech at Miami-Florida 9:00 PM ET
With both teams needing a strong finish to the season in order to assure themselves NCAA Tournament bids, Virginia Tech visits Miami (Fla.) on Wednesday with eighth place in the ACC on the line.  ESPN's Bracketology currently has the Hokies, who lost their most recent game to No. 13 Virginia, as an eighth seed in the Tournament and the Hurricanes, who are coming off a comeback victory at North Carolina State, as a No. 11 - making this game a key one for both teams.
West Virginia at Oklahoma 9:00 PM ET
All four of West Virginia's losses in the Big 12 came against teams in the bottom half of the conference standings - a strange series of events that leaves the No. 14 Mountaineers out of legitimate title contention. West Virginia, which is 2 1/2 games behind first-place Kansas in the Big 12, tries to exact revenge for one of those setbacks Wednesday when it visits last-place Oklahoma, where it has never won in four tries.
Central Florida at Cincinnati 9:00 PM ET
Cincinnati will bring a 22-game home-winning streak into its American Conference game Wednesday night against Central Florida, the third-longest for the No. 11 Bearcats since Fifth Third Arena opened in 1989. Cincinnati has won 14 in a row overall this season, its longest winning streak in three years, and the Bearcats will face a team they've beat in all seven meetings.
California at Arizona State 11:00 PM ET
California’s inability to put together a complete game would drive most coaches crazy, and Cuonzo Martin is no exception. The Bears’ third-year coach is hoping for a more consistent effort Wednesday as the Bears visit high-scoring Arizona State, which boasts three of the top 10 scorers in the Pac-12.
Stanford at Arizona 11:00 PM ET
Arizona looks to bounce back from its worst loss in seven years on Wednesday as the 10th-ranked Wildcats face visiting Stanford, which is coming off an upset of Utah. Arizona had its 15-game winning streak come to a screeching halt last Saturday in Eugene as Oregon drilled 16 3-pointers and cruised to an 85-58 victory.
