Preview Roundups
March 08, 2017
Chicago at Orlando 7:00 PM ET
The Chicago Bulls have cooled off after a hot stretch and look to avoid a third straight loss - before playing two of the league’s best - when they visit the struggling Orlando Magic on Wednesday night. The Bulls had won five of six before dropping the last two contests, including a 109-95 setback against Detroit on Monday, and have games with Houston and Boston next on the schedule.
Brooklyn at Atlanta 7:30 PM ET
The Atlanta Hawks are struggling to defend home court and now are forced to contend with some issues in the locker room as they head into a matchup with the visiting Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday. A 119-111 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday was Atlanta's seventh setback in its last 11 games at home - including three in a row.
Charlotte at Miami 7:30 PM ET
The Miami Heat just got done sweeping a home-and-home set from the Eastern Conference-leading Cleveland Cavaliers and are knocking on the door of the No. 8 spot in the East. The Charlotte Hornets, who visit the Heat on Wednesday, are just beginning to play well again and are trying to drag themselves back into the race for a postseason spot.
New York at Milwaukee 8:00 PM ET
The Milwaukee Bucks won three in a row to pull themselves back into the race for the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference and will try to make it four straight when they host the New York Knicks on Wednesday. The Bucks are 7-3 over their last 10 games to pull out of a lengthy funk that saw them drop out of playoff contention.
Toronto at New Orleans 8:00 PM ET
The Toronto Raptors are 1-1 on a five-game road trip and are about to face an opponent with no trouble matching up with their size on the interior when they visit the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday. The Raptors beefed up their frontcourt with the addition of Sege Ibaka prior to the trade deadline and are still getting used to the new alignments, just like the Pelicans with newcomer DeMarcus Cousins.
Utah at Houston 8:00 PM ET
If the Utah Jazz feel they are in pursuit of the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference, then it is imperative that they defeat the host Houston Rockets on Wednesday. Fourth-place Utah is four games behind Houston with 18 contests remaining and looks to improve its overall winning streak to four games when it attempts to slow the Rockets' offense.
L.A. Clippers at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
The Los Angeles Clippers seem to make themselves at home in Minnesota and look to defeat the host Timberwolves for the 10th consecutive time at the Target Center when the teams square off Wednesday. The Clippers won 16 of 17 overall meetings until center Karl-Anthony Towns poured in 37 points to lead Minnesota to a 104-101 victory in Los Angeles on Jan. 19.
Detroit at Indiana 8:00 PM ET
The Detroit Pistons have a shot at climbing another rung in the Eastern Conference ladder when they visit the struggling Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. While the Pacers have dropped nine of 12, the Pistons are 10-5 in their last 15 games and enter this one a game behind sixth-place Indiana in the East.
Sacramento at San Antonio 8:30 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs are putting the heat on the Golden State Warriors and look to post their ninth consecutive victory when they host the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. San Antonio is just 2 1/2 games behind first-place Golden State in the Western Conference and hosts the Warriors twice in March, the first time coming Saturday.
Washington at Denver 9:00 PM ET
Nikola Jokic has emerged as a star in his second NBA season and he is headlining Denver's charge toward landing the final Western Conference playoff spot. Jokic is listed as questionable for Wednesday's home contest against the Washington Wizards after missing Monday's win over the Sacramento Kings with an illness.
Boston at Golden State 10:30 PM ET
Things aren't going perfectly smooth on the West Coast for the Boston Celtics, and the road is about to get even more difficult when they visit the NBA-best Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. The Celtics lost on a buzzer-beater in Phoenix on Sunday before letting a 13-point, third quarter lead slip away in a 116-102 setback at the Los Angeles Clippers that left star point guard Isaiah Thomas frustrated.
