Ducks 5, Flyers 4 (SO): Corey Perry scored the decisive shootout goal in the second round as Anaheim handed Philadelphia its ninth straight road loss.

Perry, who also had two assists, fired the puck between Steve Mason's pads and Frederik Andersen (31 saves) denied Flyers captain Claude Giroux to seal the Ducks' fourth win in five home contests. Patrick Maroon and captain Ryan Getzlaf recorded a goal and an assist while defensemen Cam Fowler and Sami Vatanen also tallied in regulation for Anaheim, which also posted a shootout win in Philadelphia on Oct 14.

Wayne Simmonds recorded his third two-goal performance of the season for the Flyers, who have lost six straight contests (0-4-2) and 10 of their last 11 (1-8-2). Michael Raffl and R.J. Umberger also scored while Mason turned aside 29 shots as Philadelphia dropped its ninth consecutive shootout decision.

After a scoreless first period, the teams erupted for three goals apiece in the second, with Raffl igniting the fireworks by converting a pass from captain Claude Giroux at 5:46. Fowler evened things with a one-timer from above the left faceoff circle at 8:14, but Simmonds answered from the right circle 32 seconds later and Umberger gave the Flyers a 3-1 lead two minutes afterward with his second goal of the season.

It took Getzlaf 28 seconds to halve Anaheim's deficit as he unleashed a shot from the left circle during a 3-on-1 rush that went off the crossbar and in for his eighth tally. Vatanen tucked in a backhander at the right post with 54 seconds to play in the session to tie it and Maroon put the Ducks ahead during a power-play with 5:02 remaining in the third before Simmonds buried his own rebound with 1.8 seconds left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Simmonds other two two-goal performances came in Philadelphia's second and third games of the season. ...
