Flames 4, Senators 2: Markus Granlund snapped a tie early in the third period and added an assist as host Calgary posted its sixth victory in eight games.

Lance Bouma and Josh Jooris also recorded a goal and an assist apiece for the Flames, who improved to 2-0-0 on their five-game homestand. Paul Byron also scored and Karri Ramo turned aside 23 shots in just his third start since Oct. 25.

Clarke MacArthur and Bobby Ryan tallied for the Senators, who completed a 1-1-1 road trip. Craig Anderson made 21 saves as Ottawa failed to earn at least one point for just the second time in seven contests (3-2-2).

Ottawa held a 1-0 lead after one period as MacArthur carried the puck down the left wing and unleashed a shot from the top of the faceoff circle that got past Ramo at 12:17. The Flames pulled even 8:12 into the second, when Byron beat Anderson high to the glove side during a breakaway.

Granlund snapped the tie 2 1/2 minutes into the third, taking a pass from Bouma and lifting a backhander past Anderson's glove from the low slot. Jooris converted a feed by Curtis Glencross after Anderson failed to stop the puck behind the net during a power play at 5:37 for a 3-1 advantage, but Ryan scored on a wraparound at the left post 2:14 later to get the Senators back within one.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Another misplay of the puck by Anderson resulted in a goal with 7:03 remaining in the third period as Granlund gained possession near the right side of the crease and dished it to Bouma in the slot with the goaltender slightly out of position. ...
