Blue Jackets 3, Red Wings 2:
Vinny Prospal scored with 24.7 seconds remaining in the third period as visiting Columbus extended Detroit's winless streak to five games despite losing Artem Anisimov to a head injury.

The Blue Jackets took advantage of a turnover to start a 3-on-2 rush, and defenseman James Wisniewski fired a pass from the top of the left faceoff circle to Prospal, who spun around on the doorstep and sent a back-handed shot past Jimmy Howard for the go-ahead goal. R.J. Umberger and Derek Dorsett also scored as Columbus erased an early 2-0 deficit to snap a three-game slide.

Anisimov was taken off the ice on a stretcher after hitting his head on the ice following a collision behind Detroit's net early in the second period. Anisimov, who was back in the lineup after missing two games with a lower-body injury, was taken to a local hospital for evaluation but was alert and never lost consciousness.

Damien Brunner and Valtteri Filppula each scored and Howard made 21 saves for the Red Wings, who have allowed a total of 19 goals during their winless streak.

Brunner stole an attempted clearing pass behind Columbus’ net and stuffed the puck under Sergei Bobrovsky’s right pad for an unassisted goal 18 seconds into the game. Filppula deflected defenseman Brian Lashoff’s shot past Bobrovsky (28 saves) at the 2:40 mark to make it 2-0.

The Blue Jackets got one back on a power play less than two minutes later, when Umberger stopped Cam Atkinson’s shot in the slot and turned to wrist it past Howard. They got the equalizer at 5:03 of the third as Dorsett picked up a rebound on the doorstep and slipped it around Howard’s left skate.
