As far as debuts go, Oregon's Paul White couldn't have asked for a better one.

After sitting out last year due to transfer rules, White missed the Ducks' season opener last Friday with a foot injury. He more than made up for his absence with 16 points in leading Oregon to a 100-67 victory over visiting Prairie View A&M on Monday night in Eugene, Ore.

White, who went 4 of 7 from beyond the 3-point arc and grabbed six rebounds, surpassed his previous career high when he played for Georgetown.

Freshman Troy Brown scored 17 points to lead five Ducks players in double figures. He added a game-high nine rebounds and four assists.

Victor Bailey Jr. (15 points), Elijah Brown (12 points) and Abu Kigab (10) were the other Oregon players to score in double figures.

The Ducks struggled out of the gate once again, unable to build a big lead against an overmatched opponent. But Oregon was bailed out by its bench, which outscored Prairie View A&M's reserves 55-32.

With 15 minutes remaining in the game, the Ducks' lead was just 13 points. Then a 33-16 run in the next 10 minutes put the game away as White sank two 3-point daggers late in the run.

The Ducks (2-0) return to action Friday night when they host Alabama State. Prairie View A&M plays at UNLV on Wednesday.
