Consecutive 3-pointers in the final 1:40 punctuated Tres Tinkle's 27-point performance, and powered Oregon State to an 80-74 victory over Iowa State on Saturday at Corvallis, Ore.

Tinkle's back-to-back buckets from deep turned a one-point Iowa State lead into a five-point advantage for Oregon State, which squandered a double-digit lead in the second half.

The Beavers (2-0) led 61-51 with just over 10 minutes remaining, but Iowa State went on a 15-4 run to take its first lead since midway through the first half. Tyrese Haliburton fueled the run both as a scorer and distributor.

He finished with 15 points and 12 assists. Backcourt mate Rasir Bolton scored 16 points, and forward George Conditt IV added 14 points off the bench for the Cyclones (1-1).

Oregon State looked prime to retake the lead for good after falling behind by a point, going on a mini-run when Ethan Thompson knocked down a 3-pointer and Kylor Kelley made consecutive dunks in traffic.

The Cyclones responded to regain the lead with back-to-back Bolton scores, setting the stage for Tinkle's clutch jumpers. He punctuated his double-double performance, that included 11 rebounds, with the final two of Oregon State's 12 made 3-pointers.

The double-double is Tinkle's second in as many games. He finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds in the Beavers' season-opening rout of Cal State Northridge.

The Beavers shot 57.1 percent from behind the arc to Iowa State's 33.3 percent.

Zach Reichle contributed, going 3 of 4 from deep for 11 points. Kelley recorded 15 points and seven rebounds. Thompson added nine points.

Oregon State's rally down the stretch continued a perfect start to nonconference play for the Pac-12 Conference. The win improved the league's collective record to 14-1 -- with the one loss coming when Arizona State fell to Colorado in China on Friday.
