No. 21 UCLA 95, Northwestern 79: Kyle Anderson just missed notching his second triple-double of the season and the Bruins shot a blistering 63.6 percent in rolling over the Wildcats at the Las Vegas Invitational.

Anderson finished with 16 points, nine rebounds and nine assists as UCLA started a season 7-0 for the first time since the 2007-08 campaign. The Bruins got 18 points apiece from Jordan Adams, Bryce Alford and Zach LaVine.

JerShon Cobb paced Northwestern (4-4) with 22 points while Kale Abrahamson added 19. The Wildcats, who played without leading scorer Drew Crawford (14.3 points) due to back spasms, also got 15 points from Tre Demps.

UCLA flirted with the NCAA record for shooting efficiency in the first half (Maryland shot 83.3 percent in 1971) before missing its final two field goal attempts. The Bruins still finished the half knocking down 19 of their 25 shots from the field (76 percent) and 9-of-11 from 3-point range to take a 51-38 lead into the break.

UCLA led by double figures the entire second half. The Bruins, however, cooled off in the final minutes, failing in their bid to reach the century mark for the third straight game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Crawford, who is the active Big Ten scoring leader with 1,518 points, sat out much of last season after undergoing surgery on his shoulder. ...The Bruins will be tested soon with games against undefeated Missouri on Dec. 7 and No. 6 Duke on Dec. 19. ...Adams has at least had a share of the team lead in scoring in every game this season.
