Saint Joseph's 73, No. 19 Massachusetts 68: Halil Kanacevic scored 18 points to lead the Hawks to an Atlantic 10 victory over the visiting Minutemen.

Kanacevic also had six rebounds and five assists and Ronald Roberts Jr. recorded 17 points and six rebounds for Saint Joseph's (15-6, 5-2), which has won seven straight at home. DeAndre Bembry had 13 points and eight rebounds before fouling out and Chris Wilson supplied 12 points and six boards.

Derrick Gordon led the way with 21 points for the Minutemen (17-4, 4-3), who have lost three of four and will likely fall out of the Top 25. Chaz Williams came up with 16 points and 10 assists and Cady Lalanne chipped in 12 points and five rebounds before fouling out.

A 21-17 Saint Joseph's lead at the midway point of the first half quickly grew to 28-17 and 31-20 behind eight points from Kanacevic, who finished the first half with 10 points, four rebounds and four assists. Overall, the Hawks closed the first half on a 20-8 run and led 41-25 at the break without a point from leading scorer Langston Galloway, who missed his only shot attempt before finishing with seven points

After being unable to get to get closer than seven points for most of the second half, Williams made two free throws and a 3-pointer to bring the Minutemen to within three, then made another free throw, followed by a layup by Gordon by tie it at 67. Galloway and Williams traded one free throw each, and Wilson and Papa Ndao made two free throws each to secure the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Hawks made 5-of-8 3-pointers and converted 10-of-17 free throws in the first half compared to just 3-of-6 from the Minutemen, who had starters Sampson Carter, Raphiael Putney and Lalanne in foul trouble before the break. ... The Minutemen shot just 38.5 percent and committed nine turnovers - six more than the Hawks - in the first half. ... Massachusetts reserve forward Maxie Esho left the game with an injury in the first half and did not return, finishing with three points.
