Miami 73, Jacksonville 57: Shane Larkin posted a career-best 27 points on 9-of-13 shooting to lead the Hurricanes over the visiting Dolphins.

Julian Gamble pitched in 13 points for Miami, which rebounded from a stunning defeat at the hands of Florida Gulf Coast last time out. Larkin also dished out five assists for the Hurricanes (2-1), who won despite being without the services of stars Reggie Johnson and Durand Scott.

Johnson missed the Jacksonville game with a bruised tailbone, while Scott sat out the final game of a six-game NCAA suspension for receiving impermissable benefits.

Dylan Fritsch recorded 23 points for the Dolphins (1-2), who trailed by just four at halftime and stayed within striking distance through the early part of the second half. A Larkin 3-pointer extended the advantage to double digits with 13:41 remaining and Miami held on from there.

Rion Brown added eight points for Miami and pulled down a game-high seven rebounds.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Hurricanes improved to 27-6 all-time against the Dolphins in their fourth straight win in the series. ... Jacksonville has not defeated a team from the ACC since 1980. ... After shooting less than 30 percent in the loss to Florida Gulf Coast, Miami shot 59 percent against the Dolphins.
