Cal Poly 70, No. 11 UCLA 68: Dylan Royer matched a career high with 18 points, including six 3-pointers, and the visiting Mustangs rallied from an 18-point deficit in the second half to upset the Bruins.

After UCLA tied the game at 68-68 with 20 seconds left on Jordan Adams’ layup, Norman Powell fouled Cal Poly’s Kyle Odister, who made two free throws with 12 seconds left. The game ended on two missed 3-point attempts by Powell and Adams.

Shabazz Muhammad had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Bruins (4-2), who led 51-33 with 12:21 left in the game. Travis Wear scored 14 points and Adams chipped in 13.

Cal Poly (2-2) cut the Bruins' lead to 11 with 7:14 to play before Royer hit three 3-pointers during a 15-4 run and tied the game at 63-63 with 3:23 remaining.

Brian Bennett had 16 points and Chris Eversley and Odister scored 15 apiece for Cal Poly, which was picked to finish seventh in the Big West preseason media poll.

GAME NOTEBOOK: UCLA announced that junior guard Tyler Lamb is leaving the program and plans to transfer. Lamb played in only one game this season after having knee surgery in October. … Cal Poly trailed by two at halftime despite shooting just 9-of-28 from the field and 3-of-11 from 3-point range. …The Mustangs were coming off a 76-67 home loss against unranked Fresno State.
