Tyshawn Taylor scored 21 points and Thomas Robinson had 20 points and 17 rebounds as No. 8 Kansas romped to an 84-62 victory over visiting Oklahoma on Wednesday.

Kansas (18-4, 8-1 Big 12) led 34-31 at halftime, but didn’t take long to go up by double-digits for the remainder of the night. Thanks to three easy baskets for the conference’s leading scorer - Robinson - and two for Taylor in the first four minutes of the second half, the Jayhawks capped a 14-2 run to go up 48-35.

The Jayhawks weren’t threatened again as they won their 18th consecutive game at Allen Fieldhouse and 11th straight against the Sooners at home.

Oklahoma (13-8, 3-6) got 50 points from the trio of Romero Osby (team-high 19 points), Steven Pledger and Andrew Fitzgerald, but the rest of the Sooners scored 12 points and were only 5 of 18 from the field.

The Jayhawks, who were a blistering 55.4 percent (31 of 56) from the field, built an 11-point cushion in the opening half, capped by a dunk by Robinson at the 5:37 mark.

Pledger, who came into the game as the No. 2 scorer in the Big 12, went more than 10 minutes in the first half between his first and second baskets. But the guard scored eight points in the final three minutes, including a pair of 3-pointers, part of a 12-4, half-ending run to get the Sooners within three at the break.
