Nikola Vucevic had 20 points and nine rebounds as Southern Cal defeated visiting Stanford 65-42 on Thursday in the Pac-10.

Alex Stepheson had 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Jio Fontan added 12 for Southern Cal (11-8, 3-3 Pac-10), which held the Cardinal scoreless for more than 10 minutes in the second half.

Stanford (10-7, 3-3) shot a season-low 22.2 percent as the Trojans improved to 10-1 when holding their opponent to less than 40 percent shooting from the field.

Stanford missed 14 of its first 16 shots and had its only lead when Josh Owens scored the opening basket.

Anthony Brown had nine points for Stanford, which was 3 of 18 from 3-point range. Leading scorer Jeremy Green finished with five points on 2-of-9 shooting.

Southern Cal led 37-22 at the half and shot 55.6 percent from the field in its first game since freshman guard Bryce Jones decided to transfer earlier this week.

Vucevic, who was 9-of-11 shooting, recorded his sixth double-double in his last seven games.

Stanford, which entered the game leading the Pac-10 in scoring defense at 59.8 points per game, fell to 4-17 on the road in the Pac-10 over the last two seasons.
