Kemba Walker went off for 31 points on 10-of-17 shooting as No. 9 Connecticut dominated DePaul, 82-62, on Saturday.
Freshman Jeremy Lamb added 13 points, six rebounds and four assists and Alex Oriakhi chipped in 11 points for the Huskies (14-2, 3-2 Big East), who shot 21 of 25 from the free-throw line and 51 percent from the floor in the rout.
Walker carried Connecticut in the first half, pouring in 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting. The Huskies led by as much as 43-28 when Walker buried his lone 3-pointer of the half with 2:09 remaining before the Blue Demons managed to cut it to 45-34 at the break.
DePaul (6-11, 0-5) was within 50-40 at the 15:55 mark before the Huskies took off again, holding the Blue Demons without a field goal over the next six minutes and extending the lead out to 78-46 with just over six minutes to play.
Cleveland Melvin scored 25 points for DePaul, which shot 32 percent from the floor in falling into a tie for last place in the Big East.
Connecticut enters its most difficult stretch on Monday when it welcomes No. 7 Villanova. Tennessee, Marquette, Louisville and Syracuse are all on the slate over the next few weeks.
