Malcolm Lee led a balanced attack with 15 points as UCLA continued its 2010 dominance over the Big West Conference with a 74-67 win against UC Davis Monday night at Pauley Pavilion.
Lee was an efficient 6-of-9 from the floor, including 3-of-4 from the arc, and he got help from Tyler Honeycutt (10 points, 12 rebounds, 5 blocks), Reeves Nelson (13 points, 8 rebounds) and Lazeric Jones (10 points, 3 assists).
UCLA (5-4) improved to 4-0 vs. the Big West this season. The Bruins are 1-4 against everybody else, including four straight losses to Villanova, VCU, Kansas and Montana.
The Bruins pulled away from an early tie with a 16-5 run that provided a 31-17 lead with 7:41 to play in the first half. Honeycutt started the spurt with a 3-pointer and reserve Tyler Lamb added a shot from the arc and a short jumper.
The Bruins led 40-27 at the break and retained a double-digit lead until the final minute.
Joe Harden scored 16 and Mark Payne added 14 for the Aggies (4-6).
