Chris Warren led the way with 18 points and five assists as Mississippi rolled Mississippi Valley State 101-69 Monday.
Trevor Gaskins added 15 points and Terrence Henry chipped in 14 and eight rebounds for the Rebels.
Mississippi (6-2) dominated on both ends in the first half, shooting
53 percent while forcing 10 turnovers to double up the Delta Devils,
52-26. Warren had 15 points in the first half and the
Rebels benefited from hitting 11-of-13 free throws.
Mississippi Valley State (1-7) made a bid to get back into it with a
16-3 spurt to begin the second half, but Ole Miss responded with an 11-0
run of its own to squash any hope.
The Rebels have five more non-conference games in a row, with the
lone road test coming at Southern Methodist January 5. Eleven wins
before the start of SEC play would give them a nice cushion in their
hopes for an NCAA Tournament berth. SEC play begins
for Ole Miss at Florida on January 8.
