A pair of free throws and a clutch layup by Marshawn Powell keyed an 11-0 run as Arkansas rallied to defeat Seton Hall 71-62 in the SEC/Big East Challenge Wednesday at Freedom Hall in Louisville.
Delvon Johnson missed a triple-double with 10 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocks for the Razorbacks.
Trailing 51-50 with 6:39 to go in the game, Powell sank two free throws and followed that with a layup at the 5:14 mark that provided Arkansas (6-1) a 54-51 lead. It was the start of a run that ended with Julysses Nobles’ 3-pointer at the 2:19 mark, giving the Razorbacks a 61-51 edge.
Nearly two-thirds of Arkansas’ scoring came from its bench. Nobles finished with 19 points and three rebounds in 27 minutes and Powell added 12 and 10 rebounds in 24 minutes.
Jordan Theodore led Seton Hall (3-4) with 24 points.
