Raptors 95, Wizards 93: DeMar DeRozan scored 23 points, including the game-winning jumper with 12.9 seconds left, as Toronto downed visiting Washington for the third straight time.
Lou Williams added eight of his game-high 27 points in the final 5:18 for the Raptors, who have won nine of their last 11. Kyle Lowry produced 13 points and six assists while Greivis Vasquez had 11 off the bench for Toronto, which went 22-of-26 from the free-throw line.
John Wall tallied 21 points and eight assists, but missed two opportunities to send the game into overtime for the Wizards, who were missing Bradley Beal (toe) for the third straight contest. Paul Pierce scored 17 points and Nene added 14 for Washington, which finished 10-of-16 from the foul line.
Pierce rattled off eight consecutive points to put the Wizards on top 67-58 before Vasquez drained two 3-pointers and scored at the rim as part of 15-3 run that spilled into the fourth quarter and put the Raptors back in front 78-76. Williams buried a triple to give Toronto a 92-89 advantage before Wall connected from beyond the arc to even the score at 93 with 1:46 remaining to set the stage for DeRozan's late heroics.
Vasquez and Williams drilled back-to-back 3-pointers as Toronto pulled ahead 36-27 before Rasual Butler sparked a 13-1 surge to give Washington a 40-37 edge. DeRozan scored at the rim to end a six-plus minute field-goal drought and Lowry knocked down two straight jumpers as the Raptors went on to take a 49-47 lead into intermission despite shooting 37.2 percent in the first half.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Raptors went 11-of-26 from 3-point range while the Wizards finished 5-of-21. … DeRozan and Williams combined to go 17-of-17 from the foul line. … Washington PF Kris Humphries missed the game with a lower back injury.
