Clippers 112, Suns 105: Blake Griffin scored 37 points on 14-of-16 shooting as Los Angeles held off visiting Phoenix to earn its eighth straight win.

Darren Collison scored 20 points and Chris Paul collected 17 points and 11 assists for the Clippers, who moved back into a virtual tie with the Houston Rockets for the No. 3 spot in the Western Conference. Danny Granger scored 14 points off the bench and DeAndre Jordan hauled in 17 rebounds to go along with eight points for Los Angeles.

Goran Dragic scored 23 points and Gerald Green had 16 as the Suns fell for the second straight night. Markieff Morris added 16 points off the bench and P.J. Tucker recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds for Phoenix, which slipped a half-game behind the Memphis Grizzlies for the No. 8 spot in the West.

The Suns pulled within 92-80 less than a minute into the fourth before the Clippers ripped off a 9-0 run to push the lead to 21 points. Phoenix ripped off a 14-2 burst capped by back-to-back transition layups from Dragic to draw back within 105-99 with 2:19 left before Paul banked in a jumper from the free-throw line and Matt Barnes clinched it with three free throws in the final 21.9 seconds.

Los Angeles led 62-45 at the half and connected on seven straight field-goal attempts early in the third to push it out to 77-52. Phoenix came on strong in the back half of the third and pulled within 87-76 before Barnes’ buzzer-beating 3-pointer made it a 14-point lead going into the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Griffin and Tucker got tangled up going for a rebound with 5:28 left and both went down to the floor, leading to a scrum between the teams. Tucker was ejected for throwing an elbow at Griffin. … The Clippers matched the second-longest winning streak in franchise history. … Los Angeles G Jamal Crawford (calf) sat for the fourth time in the last five games.
