Clippers 104, Suns 96: Matt Barnes scored a season-high 28 points and Blake Griffin added 22 as visiting Los Angeles held off Phoenix.

Darren Collison scored 18 points and Chris Paul collected 14 points and nine assists for the Clippers, who have won five straight. DeAndre Jordan recorded 10 points and 17 rebounds while Danny Granger missed his only field-goal attempt in four minutes off the bench during his Los Angeles debut.

P.J. Tucker had 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Suns, who had their lead over the Memphis Grizzlies for the No. 8 spot in the West trimmed to a half-game. Gerald Green scored 17 points and Goran Dragic contributed 14 points and nine assists for Phoenix.

The Clippers took a 90-75 lead on Jared Dudley’s layup with 8:51 to play before Markieff Morris capped an 11-0 run with a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to four. Green’s 3-point jumper made it a one-possession game with 2:36 remaining but Griffin responded with a jumper and Los Angeles hit 5-of-6 free throws in the final 39 seconds to wrap it up.

The Suns took a 55-44 lead into the break but the Clippers dominated the third quarter as Barnes scored 13 points in just over two minutes to highlight a 19-5 run that put Los Angeles on top 68-66. Barnes’ layup with 32 seconds left in the period made it a 10-point lead before the Clippers settled for an 81-73 advantage heading to the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Griffin has scored 20 points in 20 consecutive games, passing Dominique Wilkins for the longest streak since the franchise moved to Los Angeles in 1984-85. … Dudley left the game in the middle of the fourth quarter with back spasms and did not return. … Phoenix C Miles Plumlee (knee) missed the game and Alex Len collected six points and six rebounds while starting in his place.
