Clippers 126, Warriors 115:
Chris Paul went off for 42 points and 15 assists as Los Angeles outlasted visiting Golden State in its home opener.

Paul added six steals and went 16-of-17 from the free throw line to come within one point of his career high while Blake Griffin collected 23 points and 10 rebounds and DeAndre Jordan grabbed 17 boards. Jamal Crawford added 17 points off the bench for the Clippers, who bounced back after falling to the rival Lakers in their opener.

Stephen Curry did his best to keep up with Paul, going 9-of-14 from 3-point range en route to 38 points and nine assists, but committed 11 of the Warriors’ 25 turnovers. David Lee scored 22 points before fouling out and Andre Iguodala chipped in 14 points and 11 assists for Golden State, which was enduring the second night of a back-to-back.

The Clippers took a 68-55 lead into the half but watched it shrink to an eight-point edge when Curry knocked down a 3-pointer early in the period. The Warriors were within 10 when Los Angeles began to pull away in spectacular fashion, getting three consecutive steals and transition alley-opp dunks from Paul to Griffin during a 9-0 run.

A late surge led by Iguodala chopped it to 93-80 entering the fourth, and a pair of 3-pointers by Curry sandwiched around one from Draymond Green comprised Golden State’s portion of a 9-5 run that briefly brought it to single digits at 98-89 with 10:03 left.

Curry was fouled while burying his ninth 3-pointer and hit the ensuing free throw to draw the Warriors within 110-102 midway through the fourth. The Clippers ripped off a 7-2 run over the next two minutes to swing the momentum back and controlled the game the rest of the way.

Paul had 18 points and nine assists and Los Angeles dominated the boards 25-16 in the first half to jump ahead.
