Warriors 102, Pelicans 101:
Klay Thompson scored 22 points and matched a career high with eight assists as visiting Golden State got the better of New Orleans and snapped a three-game slide.

David Lee added 19 points and Jermaine O’Neal collected 18 and eight rebounds for the Warriors, who were again without Andre Iguodala (hamstring). Stephen Curry chipped in 16 points, nine assists and eight rebounds and Harrison Barnes scored 14 as all five starters reached double figures.

Ryan Anderson recorded 21 points and 12 rebounds and Jrue Holiday had 17 points as the Pelicans suffered a second straight setback. Eric Gordon added 16 points and Antony Davis had 14 and 11 rebounds.

Anthony Morrow and Holiday hit back-to-back 3-pointers to give New Orleans an 85-83 cushion with 8:52 left but Golden State responded in kind, getting back-to-back 3-pointers from Curry and Barnes to retake the lead. The Warriors held a 93-87 edge after Curry’s layup but the Pelicans scored the next six points to knot it up.

Thompson and Holiday traded 3-pointers around the three-minute mark, and Davis’ three-point play pulled New Orleans within 100-99 with 2:25 to play. O’Neal provided the last points for the Warriors with 2:12 left but it proved to be enough as Gordon missed a pair of 3-point attempts down the stretch, including one in the final second.

Golden State scored the final 11 points of the first quarter to take a 28-18 lead at the end of the period. Curry scored five points during a 7-0 burst that stretched the lead to 40-27 midway through the second, and the Warriors led by as many as 15 points before the Pelicans came back and cut it to 57-49 at the break.

Gordon scored six points during an 8-0 push in the third quarter that put New Orleans in control 68-65 as is went back-and-forth. Tyreke Evans’ layup with 12 seconds left in the third sent the Pelicans into the final stanza with a 77-76 edge.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Warriors C Andrew Bogut sat out while serving a one-game suspension for his role in an altercation with the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday. O’Neal, who missed the previous four games with a hip injury, started in his place. … Anderson is averaging 19.2 points in five games since returning to the lineup. … New Orleans committed 16 turnovers which led to 21 points for Golden State.
