Clippers 137, Rockets 118: J.J. Redick scored 26 points and Chris Paul had 23 points and 17 assists as host Los Angeles sped past Houston.

The big game marked the 31st time Paul has had 20-plus points and 15 or more assists in the same game. Jamal Crawford made six 3-pointers en route to 21 points and Blake Griffin added 18 as the Clippers won their third consecutive contest.

Omri Casspi had 19 points and nine rebounds and James Harden tallied 15 for the Rockets, who lost for the first time in four games. Dwight Howard had 13 points and nine rebounds but played just 26 minutes due to foul trouble.

Howard drew his third foul with 1:23 left in the first quarter and didn’t play again until the third quarter. Redick scored 19 first-half points and Los Angeles shot 59.1 percent from the field while scoring 42 points in the opening quarter and 36 in the second for a 78-66 lead at the break.

The Clippers led by 18 early in the final quarter before the Rockets whittled their deficit to 107-98 early in the stanza. Los Angeles regained its edge and surged to a 121-103 lead on Crawford’s 3-pointer with 6:07 to play before increasing the bulge to 21 on Griffin’s dunk off Paul’s lob with 4:26 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Clippers were 15-of-38 from 3-point range as Crawford raised his career total to 1,550 and moved into 15th place in NBA history, passing Eddie Jones (1,546 from 1994-2008). … The Rockets have lost six of their last seven against Los Angeles. … The 78 first-half points matches the most for the Clippers since moving to Los Angeles in 1984.
