Spurs 120, Lakers 89: Tim Duncan had 26 points and nine rebounds as San Antonio took a commanding 3-0 lead and handed injury-depleted Los Angeles its worst home playoff loss in franchise history.

Tony Parker added 20 points and seven assists as the Spurs took control early and put themselves in position to sweep the series in Sunday's Game 4 in Los Angeles. The Lakers have not been swept in the first round of the playoffs since 1967.

Dwight Howard had 25 points and 11 rebounds and second-year guards Darius Morris and Andrew Goudelock scored 24 and 20 points, respectively, for the Lakers, who were forced to play without their top four backcourt players.

Duncan, who turned 37 on Thursday, finished 12-of-16 and San Antonio shot a blistering 61.2 percent. The Spurs led 30-18 after one quarter and stretched it to 48-30 before Goudelock - named MVP of the NBA D-League this week - scored 10 points in less than 2 1/2 minutes to get Los Angeles within 55-44 at the half.

The lead was 10 early in the third quarter when San Antonio used a quick 10-2 burst to go ahead 71-53. The Spurs steadily pulled away, carrying an 85-63 edge into the final 12 minutes.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Lakers F Pau Gasol had a triple-double with 11 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in front of a home crowd that started to yell "We want Phil" in reference to former coach Phil Jackson. ... In addition to Kobe Bryant (Achilles), the Lakers were missing guards Steve Nash (back/hamstring), Steve Blake (hamstring) and Jodie Meeks (ankle). F Metta World Peace wound up scoreless after having a cyst in his knee drained Friday morning and said he would likely sit out Game 4. ... Spurs C Tiago Splitter suffered a sprained left ankle near the end of the third quarter and had to be helped off the court and to the locker room.
