Emeka Okafor collected 17 points and 13 rebounds and Bradley Beal added 17 and a career-high 12 boards as Washington held off visiting Denver.

John Wall had 14 points and 10 assists and Trevor Ariza scored 16 for the Wizards, who have won nine of their last 11 home games.

Ty Lawson recorded 27 points and 12 assists, Wilson Chandler scored 22 and Andre Miller added 19 off the bench as the Nuggets were beaten up 49-36 on the glass en route to their fourth straight road loss.

Denver trailed by as much as 18 points early in the fourth quarter before the reserves began to lead a rally. Chandler had seven points and Miller added six and three assists in an 18-4 burst that chopped the deficit to 102-98 with 6:09 left.

The Nuggets crept as close as 113-111 after a pair of free throws with 1:07 left and had a chance to tie it on the next possession, but Lawson was blocked by Nene on a layup attempt. Wall buried a jumper at the other end with 13 seconds left and Washington hung on for the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
It was tied 64-64 at the half but the Wizards began the third quarter with a 13-0 run to take control and pushed the lead to 94-78 heading into the fourth. … Lawson has scored 26 or more points in five straight games. … Washington’s 64 first-half points marked a season high. The Wizards' high for second-half points this season is 62, set in Denver on Jan. 18.
