HAWKS 116, PISTONS 84
: Tracy McGrady led an onslaught with a season-high 17 points off the bench as Atlanta cruised to its eighth straight win at home in the series.

Rookie Ivan Johnson had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Joe Johnson scored 13 in just 22 minutes for the Hawks, who led by as many as 37 points in the first half. Atlanta kept pace in the East with the win, having entered in a tie with Orlando for the fifth spot in the standings.

It was a remarkable reversal for the Pistons, who posted a 39-point win over Cleveland just 24 hours prior.

The Hawks wasted little time building their lead, using a 10-0 run late in the first quarter to go ahead 37-18. Things only got more out of hand in the next 12 minutes when a 19-3 run all but sealed the Pistons' fate.

Jannero Pargo, Willie Green and Jerry Stackhouse all knocked down 3-pointers and Marvin Williams had a pair of baskets during the spurt, which resulted in a 68-31 Hawks' lead with two minutes left before halftime.

Atlanta shot a blistering 62 percent (28 of 45) in the half to grab a 72-42 lead that would not be relinquished.

Greg Monroe led the Pistons with 17 points. Walker Russell added 15 off the bench.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
