HAWKS 102, WIZARDS 88:
Joe Johnson matched season highs with 34 points and six 3-pointers to lead host Atlanta.

Josh Smith had 23 points and eight assists, and Jeff Teague had 14 points and five steals as the Hawks won for just the second time in six games.

Trevor Booker had 18 points and nine rebounds, and John Wall had 14 points and nine assists for the Wizards, who dropped to 4-17 on the road.

Johnson was 12 of 19 from the field and made 6 of 8 3-point attempts. Johnson also had 34 points and connected on six 3s in Tuesday’s loss to Denver.

Atlanta trailed 60-56 with under five minutes left in the third quarter before scoring 10 straight points as part of a quarter-ending 15-4 run to take a seven-point lead. Johnson, Kirk Hinrich and Jannero Pargo all hit 3-pointers during the surge.

The Hawks expanded the lead to 12 early in the final quarter before Washington pulled within 80-74 on Roger Mason’s 3-pointer with 7:31 left. Johnson responded with back-to-back baskets to start an 11-0 run as Atlanta put the game away.

Zaza Pachulia had 10 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for the Hawks.

Johnson had 18 first-half points, but Atlanta trailed 54-50 at intermission. The Wizards shot 53.8 percent in the first half.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Johnson is averaging 27 points over the past four games … Washington committed 20 turnovers, nine by Wall. … Atlanta was 12 for 27 from 3-point range … Newly acquired center Nene and forward Brian Cook weren’t with the Wizards for Friday’s game.
