Carmelo Anthony poured in 39 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help the host New York Knicks snap a six-game losing streak with a 113-106 victory in overtime over the Orlando Magic on Monday.

Anthony scored 33 of his points after halftime, and Amar'e Stoudemire added 20 points and nine boards as New York (36-38) also halted a six-game skid against Orlando.

Dwight Howard had 29 points and 18 rebounds - his ninth straight double-double against the Knicks - and Jason Richardson added 24 points for the Magic (47-27), who saw their five-game winning streak halted.

Toney Douglas and Chauncey Billups hit 3-pointers to put the Knicks ahead to stay in overtime after Richardson had connected from beyond the arc with 5.7 seconds left in regulation to force the extra session.

New York remained 3½ games ahead of eighth-place Indiana and two games behind No. 6 Philadelphia in the Eastern Conference.
