Rookie Gordon Hayward scored a season-high 34 points and the host Utah Jazz wrapped up their second non-playoff season in 28 years with a 107-103 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.

Wilson Chandler scored 27 points for the Nuggets (50-32), who are the No. 5 seed and will meet No. 4 Oklahoma City in the first round of the playoffs.

Al Jefferson had 17 points and 10 rebounds, including a jumper with 35.5 seconds left that gave Utah a 105-103 lead. Hayward scored 14 in the fourth quarter.

Devin Harris added 21 points for the Jazz (39-43), who prior to 2004-05 last had a losing season in 1983-84.

Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson left the game with 10:03 left in the second quarter after twisting his ankle and did not return.

Five Denver regulars - Nene (hamstring), Arron Afflalo (hamstring), Danilo Gallinari (ankle), Kenyon Martin (rest) and Raymond Felton (rest) - did not play.
