Richie Palacios had a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the 10th inning and four relievers worked four scoreless innings as the visiting Cleveland Guardians extended their winning streak to five games with a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday.

Josh Naylor also had a sacrifice fly for the Guardians' first run, while Amed Rosario went 1-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to 11 games.

The Dodgers had a chance to win the game in the ninth inning, putting runners on first and third with one out and the score 1-1. Guardians left-hander Anthony Gose then entered and struck out Gavin Lux and got Trea Turner on a fly ball to right. Turner had three hits to extend his hitting streak to 10 games.

With the Dodgers' tying run at second in the 10th, Gose (3-0) struck out Freddie Freeman before Enyel De Los Santos got Will Smith on a ground ball. After Max Muncy walked, Justin Turner struck out to seal De Los Santos' first career save.

Cleveland closer Emmanuel Clase had the night off after recording saves each of the past three days.

It was the first meeting between the teams since 2017 and their first matchup in Los Angeles since 2014. Cleveland improved to 5-2 all-time at Dodger Stadium.

Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw, in his second outing since spending a month on the injured list, gave up just one run over five innings. He threw 81 pitches, yielded five hits and one walk and struck out four.

Evan Phillips (1-3) pitched the 10th to take the loss.

In his first career matchup with the Dodgers, Guardians starter Zach Plesac gave up one run on five hits over six innings with two walks and one strikeout.

The Dodgers broke through in the second inning when Cody Bellinger blasted a 3-1 fastball deep into the seats in right field for his eighth home run of the season.

The Guardians got even in the fourth, starting with consecutive singles from Jose Ramirez and Oscar Gonzalez to put runners on the corners. Naylor followed with his sacrifice fly to left field.

The Dodgers' offense was short leadoff man Mookie Betts, who was a late scratch due to a right rib contusion.
