Atlanta right-hander Kevin Gausman allowed only one run over eight innings to win his first start at home since being acquired at the trade deadline, and the Braves overpowered the visiting Milwaukee Brewers 10-1 on Friday at SunTrust Park.

Gausman was acquired from Baltimore on July 31 in exchange for four minor leaguers and some international signing money. He was expected to help solidify the Atlanta rotation for a playoff run and matched his longest start of the season to help the Braves successfully open their 11-game homestand.

Gausman (1-0 with Atlanta, 6-9 overall) allowed one run on six hits and struck out eight, two shy of his career best. Gausman looked more at ease than in his first start with the Braves, when he allowed three runs in five innings against the Mets.

Rookie Chad Sobotka made his major league debut in the ninth inning. He worked a perfect frame and struck out one.

The Braves accumulated 13 hits, with third baseman Johan Camargo going 4-for-5 with two doubles and left fielder Ronald Acuna Jr. going 3-for-5. Center fielder Ender Inciarte had two hits and drove in four runs, and right fielder Nick Markakis had two hits, both doubles, and drove in three.

The Braves had six doubles and increased their National League-leading total to 234.

The losing pitcher was right-hander Freddy Peralta (5-3), who lasted only three innings and gave up seven runs on seven hits and five walks. Peralta defeated the Braves on July 6 in Milwaukee.

The Braves got all the runs they needed in the first inning on RBI doubles by Markakis and Camargo and a run-scoring single by Inciarte.

Atlanta put it away with two runs in the third on a two-run double by Inciarte and two more in the fourth on an RBI single from Freddie Freeman and a sacrifice fly by Markakis.

In addition to Sobotka, Atlanta also recalled left-hander Chad Bell from Triple-A Gwinnett. The Braves returned right-hander Wes Parsons and lefty Adam McCreery to Gwinnett.
