Jake Bauers drove in three runs, two on a single that gave Tampa Bay the lead in the seventh inning, as the Rays twice rallied Thursday night to knock off the Baltimore Orioles 5-4 in the rubber game of their three-game series at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.

After the Orioles broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the seventh on a solo home run by Renato Nunez, the Rays loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning against Cody Carroll (0-1), who walked two in setting up Bauers' two-out hit to right.

The rally gave Yonny Chirinos (1-4) his first major league win. After the Rays' opening pitcher, Hunter Wood, who is usually a reliever, allowed three runs in his two innings, Chirinos kept the Orioles off the scoreboard while Tampa Bay caught up.

The Rays scored single runs on a Matt Duffy double in the third; a Ji-Man Choi opposite-field home run to left, his fourth homer of the season, in the fourth; and a sacrifice fly by Bauers in the sixth.

Orioles starter David Hess left later in the sixth with two on and two out, and lefty Donnie Hart came on to get the final out. In 5 2/3 innings, Hess gave up three runs on four hits and three walks. He struck out three.

Chirinos went five innings, allowing three hits and one run. He struck out four and didn't walk a batter. In one stretch, he retired 10 straight. The only run he allowed was Nunez's second home run of the season.

Jose Alvarado pitched a scoreless eighth for the Rays, and closer Sergio Romo, who suffered his seventh blown save of the season in Tampa Bay's 5-4 loss to Baltimore on Wednesday, pitched the ninth for his 14th save.

In his two-thirds of an inning, Carroll gave up two runs on two hits with two walks and one strikeout.

Baltimore took the early lead when Joey Rickard hit a two-run triple in the top of the second off Wood. Austin Wynns followed with an RBI single.
