Edwin Jackson recorded his 99th career win and continued his impressive run against the Cleveland Indians on Saturday afternoon, pitching the Oakland Athletics to their sixth straight win, a 7-2 victory in Oakland, Calif.

Josh Phegley, Dustin Fowler and Matt Olson hit home runs, helping the A's overcome a 2-0 deficit to record a second straight win in the three-game series.

Jackson (1-0), who tied a major league record when he debuted for the A's as his 13th major league team Monday in Detroit, picked up his first win with his new team with 6 2/3 innings of two-hit, two-run pitching. He struck out six and did not walk a batter.

The 34-year-old right-hander improved his career record against the Indians to 10-1, tying Zack Greinke, David Price and Rick Porcello for the second-most wins against Cleveland among active pitchers. Justin Verlander leads the pack with 20.

Jackson retired the first nine batters he faced before Francisco Lindor belted his third pitch of the fourth inning for a solo homer, his 20th of the season.

Eight pitches later, Jose Ramirez made it 2-0 with another solo shot, his 24th.

That was the extent of the Cleveland offense against Jackson, who retired the final 10 men he faced after the Ramirez homer before handing the ball to left-hander Ryan Buchter with two outs in the seventh inning, with the A's having rallied into a 3-2 lead.

Oakland scored its first three runs in the sixth off Indians right-hander Adam Plutko (4-2) on a double by Franklin Barreto, a two-run, game-tying homer by Phegley, a single by Fowler and a go-ahead double by Mark Canha.

Plutko was pulled two batters later, having allowed three runs and five hits in 5 2/3 innings. He walked one and struck out three.

The A's broke the game open against the Cleveland bullpen in the eighth, with Fowler hitting a one-out solo homer, Khris Davis adding a sacrifice fly and Olson belting a two-run home run.

The Athletics' homers were the second of the season for Phegley, the fifth for Fowler and the 18th for Olson.

Lou Trivino, who induced Yonder Alonso to ground into a game-ending double play with the bases loaded, was credited with his third save.

Phegley and Olson had two RBIs apiece, while Fowler collected two hits and scored twice for the A's, who beat the Indians for the ninth time in their last 10 meetings dating back to 2016.

The homers by Lindor and Ramirez were two of just three total hits for the Indians, who lost for the fourth time in their past five games.
