Catcher Curt Casali hit a home run and batterymate Johnny Cueto outdueled Sean Manaea as the San Francisco Giants opened a three-game home series against the Bay Area rival Oakland Athletics with a 2-0 victory Friday night.

Brandon Crawford reached a team-leading 50 RBIs with a run-scoring single, and Jake McGee recorded his 15th save to complete San Francisco's major-league-leading 11th shutout, helping the Giants win their fourth straight and defeat the A's for just the second time in their past seven meetings.

Crawford's two-out hit in the fourth inning, which scored Wilmer Flores from second base, was the only scoring while Cueto (6-3) and Manaea (6-4) were in the game.

The Giants' veteran right-hander blanked the A's on five hits over seven innings. He walked one and struck out six.

The combined shutout was Cueto's second of the season. He threw 5 2/3 innings and combined with four relievers on a 3-0 home win over Cincinnati in April.

Two of the five hits off Cueto were by Manaea, who was batting for the first time this season. He entered the game 1-for-10 in his career before doubling to right field in the third and legging out a topper down the third base line in the fifth.

In both cases, Manaea was stranded in scoring position, at third base when Cueto got Matt Olson to fly out in the third, and at second when Olson struck out in the fifth.

Manaea matched his rival nearly pitch for pitch on the mound, allowing just the one run on three hits in six innings. He walked three and struck out seven.

Pressed into action when Buster Posey was scratched because of a sore back, Casali padded the Giants' lead with his homer to left-center in the seventh off Oakland reliever Cam Bedrosian. The homer was Casali's second of the season.

Tyler Rogers struck out two in a scoreless eighth before McGee worked around a one-out error in the ninth to wrap up the win.

The A's out-hit the hosts 6-5. Oakland's Jed Lowrie joined Manaea as the game's only players with two hits.

Oakland fell to 3-5 on its 10-game trip.
