Astros 6, Mariners 4: Jimmy Paredes hit a tying single in the ninth inning and Jonathan Villar followed with a two-run base hit as visiting Houston rallied to capture the opener of the three-game series.

Trevor Crowe recorded two hits and an RBI while Jose Altuve collected three hits for the Astros, who halted their three-game losing streak. Kevin Chapman (1-1) tossed a scoreless eighth to earn his first major-league victory and Josh Fields yielded a run in the ninth before registering his fourth save.

Abraham Almonte belted a two-run homer and Brad Miller added a solo shot for Seattle, which finished with only five hits in falling to 10-7 against Houston this season.
