Mariners 4, Rockies 0: Kevin Millwood carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning and settled for a two-hitter for his first shutout since 2003 as visiting Seattle snapped a four-game losing streak.

Kyle Seager had two hits and two RBIs and Mike Carp homered for Seattle, which won for only the second time in its last 14 road games and improved to 2-6 on its 10-game road trip.

Marco Scutaro broke up Millwood’s no-hit bid on an infield hit with two outs in the sixth but was thrown out at third to end the inning following Jordan Pacheco’s single to center.

Millwood (2-4), whose last shutout came while with Philadelphia on Aug. 1, 2003 against San Diego, struck out seven, walked one and hit a batter for his sixth career shutout. He retired the first seven batters Friday before walking Dexter Fowler, and set down the next 10 batters before Scutaro’s hit.

Colorado’s Alex White (0-3) yielded three runs on seven hits and struck out seven in seven innings.

Seager’s two-out single in the first drove in Michael Saunders, who had tripled with one out. Carp hit a solo shot with two outs in the second and Seager’s sacrifice fly in the sixth made it 3-0.

Seager led off the ninth with his first career triple and scored on John Jaso’s one-out sacrifice fly.
