Brewers 3, Reds 2: Ryan Braun doubled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning as host Milwaukee came from behind to finish off a three-game sweep of Cincinnati.

Carlos Gomez hit a solo homer in the sixth and tied it with an RBI single in the eighth for the Brewers, who bounced back against the Reds following a three-game slide.

The Reds have dropped four in a row after winning 15 of their previous 16 games.

Cincinnati staked Mat Latos to a 2-0 lead in the third inning, when Dioner Navarro came up with a runner on and drove a 2-1 offering from Randy Wolf just over the left-field wall for his first homer of the season.

Latos allowed one run on three hits in seven innings, striking out eight and walking one before leaving with the lead.

The Reds brought on newcomer Jonathan Broxton (1-1) to protect the one-run edge but the burly right-hander surrendered three straight two-out hits to cough up the lead. Gomez’s single to center plated Norichika Aoki with the tying run and Braun followed by driving a double to center for his 75th RBI.

John Axford (4-6) picked up the win in relief and Jim Henderson worked the ninth for his second save.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Navarro could soon be bumped, as the Reds are expected to activate C Devin Mesoraco off the DL on Thursday. … Cincinnati announced that it will retire Hall of Famer Barry Larkin’s No. 11 in a ceremony on Aug. 25. … The Reds continue their road trip with the start of a four-game series at the Chicago Cubs on Thursday while the Brewers get a day off before beginning a six-game trip at Houston.
