Twins 11, Phillies 7: Trevor Plouffe belted a two-run homer to highlight a four-run second inning and Ben Revere, Jamey Carroll and Joe Mauer had a pair of run-scoring hits apiece as host Minnesota outslugged reeling Philadelphia.

Denard Span led off the first inning with a homer and Josh Willingham also went deep in the sixth for the Twins, who banged out 17 hits to record their 10th win in 13 games.

Nick Blackburn (3-4) picked up his third straight victory despite being touched for four runs in the fourth inning. Blackburn scattered eight hits over five frames in the win.

After Mauer's RBI double in the fourth gave Minnesota a 6-4 lead, Plouffe plated Ryan Doumit with an RBI single in the fifth before scoring on Carroll's double.

The Phillies were able to trim the deficit to one for the second time after former Twin Jim Thome's RBI single in the sixth inning, but Willingham went deep in the latter half of the frame. Carroll capped the scoring with an RBI single in the seventh.

Jimmy Rollins collected four hits - including a two-run double - for the Phillies, who have dropped nine of their last 10 to fall 9 1/2 games back of first-place Washington in the National League East.

Kyle Kendrick (2-6) permitted six runs on eight hits in four innings to suffer his second straight loss.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Phillies were playing their first game at the new Target Field. ... Second overall pick Byron Buxton participated in batting practice with Mauer and Justin Morneau prior to the game. Buxton belted a mammoth homer into the bullpen in left field, causing Twins general manager Terry Ryan to admit that he was impressed.
