Giants 4, Phillies 2: Madison Bumgarner began paying dividends on his new contract by tossing six solid innings and Nate Schierholtz had three hits -- including an RBI single -- as host San Francisco collected its fourth win in six outings.

Melky Cabrera ripped an RBI triple in the first inning, Buster Posey had three singles and Pablo Sandoval doubled to extend his hitting streak to 11 games for the Giants.

Signed to a six-year, $35.6 million contract extension on Monday, Bumgarner (2-1) rebounded after serving up Hunter Pence's solo homer in the fourth inning. Bumgarner yielded two runs on seven hits and struck out two.

Clay Hensley and Sergio Romo tossed a scoreless inning apiece to bridge the gap to Santiago Casilla, who retired the side in the ninth for his first save of the season.

Philly's Joe Blanton (1-2) permitted four runs on 11 hits in five innings to take the loss.

Carlos Ruiz had a sacrifice fly for the Phillies, who saw their modest two-game win streak come to an end.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Blanton fell to 2-4 in his career versus the Giants. ... Philadelphia has won four of its last six meetings with San Francisco. Prior to those contests, the Giants got the better of the Phillies in the 2010 National League Championship Series and went on to win the World Series.
