Tim Hudson (9-4) gave up three runs and five hits in seven innings and retired the final 16 batters he faced to win for the fifth time in six decisions. The loss was Miami's sixth in seven games.

Eric O’Flaherty worked the eighth inning and Craig Kimbrel pitched a perfect ninth for his 29th save in 31 opportunities.

Martin Prado led off the Atlanta seventh with a triple to right-center just over the glove of Marlins right fielder Greg Dobbs. Heyward followed with a single to center off Wade LeBlanc (1-1) to give the Braves a 4-3 lead.

Heyward also had a sacrifice fly in the first inning before Miami took a 3-1 advantage on a first-inning single by Hanley Ramirez and a two-run homer in the second by Jose Reyes.

Freddie Freeman drew a bases-loaded walk in the third against Marlins starter Mark Buehrle to pull the Braves within a run before Prado tied the game in the fourth with a sacrifice fly to center.

Buehrle allowed three runs (two earned) and five hits in five innings. He struck out four and walked four.
