Braves 7, Marlins 0: Brandon Beachy tossed a five-hitter for the first shutout of his major-league career, and seven different players drove in runs to help Atlanta salvage a split of a two-game series at Turner Field.

Beachy (5-1) struck out six in his first complete game, posting his seventh consecutive quality start and lowering his major league-best ERA to 1.33. That's the second-lowest ERA for a Braves pitcher through his first eight starts since 1921. Only Greg Maddux (1.13 in 1994) had a lower ERA through eight starts.

The Braves staked Beachy to an early lead on Martin Prado's RBI triple in the first, and they added two more on a solo home run by Freddie Freeman and an RBI double by Brian McCann in the third.

Michael Bourn added an RBI single in the fourth to make it 4-0, and Chipper Jones, Jason Heyward and Beachy each had RBI singles in the three-run fifth.

Marlins starter Ricky Nolasco (4-2) struggled for a second consecutive outing, allowing four runs on seven hits over four innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Beachy's shutout was the first by the Braves this season. ... Prado went 2-for-4 for his 14th multi-hit game of the season and extended his hitting streak to nine games. … Nolasco remains tied with Dontrelle Willis for the Marlins' franchise record with 68 wins. … The Braves travel to Tampa Bay to begin a three-game interleague series with the Rays on Friday, while the Marlins travel to Cleveland for a three-game interleague set with the Indians.
